As a principal of AEW Capital Management, Ron M. Pastore heads up AEW’s retail investment management group. This group consists of eight professionals who oversee more than $3.5 billion of retail assets, including super regional malls, urban specialty centers, and grocery-anchored neighborhood centers. Ron brings to his position over 25 years of real estate experience. He is a graduate of Bowdoin College. He also attended Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government where he received a master’s of arts in city and regional planning and MIT’s Sloan School where he received a master’s of science in management. Ron is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and has been quoted in a variety of major publications. He has also appeared as an industry commentator on CNN and various NPR radio programs.

He resides in Lexington, Massachusetts with his wife, Jeanine, and their three children. Aside from his business activities, Ron has been an active electric bassist since the age of 12 and currently plays in the Boston area with two bands, the Belltones and Memphis Train. Prior to both bands, Ron was a member of the Glee Club, which played extensively throughout Boston and landed two original compositions, WBCN and WFNX. During his college years, Ron’s band, The Press, toured the New England college and nightclub scene. Two of the band’s original songs earned significant radio airplay.
