*THIS IS AN IN-PERSON CLASS*
John Prine was an amazing songwriter whose work has been recorded by the likes of Bonnie Raitt, Johnny Cash, Bette Midler and Miranda Lambert. I’m a long time fan of his and so are a few of my students who asked me to teach this class.
We’ll spend the semester learning his technique playing songs like, Summer’s End and Angel From Montgomery. This is a Guitar 5 level class – some experience with bar chords is necessary. The ability to read guitar tab is helpful but not necessary. Please be prepared with a flat pick and capo.
[Janet will run this class in a hybrid format, teaching both in-person and on Zoom. With advance notice, in-person students are welcome to join classes online if needed.]

Time: 8:00-9:15 pm ET
Location: Passim School of Music, 26 Church Street, Cambridge, MA(Classrooms are located on the second floor; unfortunately, there is no elevator.)
Ages: 18+

Janet Feld is an award-winning performing songwriter, appearing at folk festivals and coffeehouses from coast to coast throughout a nearly four-decade career. She’s been teaching general music classes and private lessons to people of all ages since the 1980s. Since 2000, she’s been teaching guitar and songwriting at The Passim School of Music and is the founder and Chief Music Officer at Janet’s Planet: Music Lessons for Humanoids, Inc. She has recorded 5 CDs and published her first book in 2023 for music teachers Practicing Safe Music: Create an Emotionally Safe and Magical Space for Your Students
