Recognizable Riffs and Melodies on Ukulele: 80s and Beyond

THIS IS AN IN-PERSON CLASS

Sometimes the most iconic part of a song is the instrumental riff, or a particular melodic intro or solo. Let’s figure out how to play some of these on ukulele! Song selections will be from the 80s, 90s and early 2000s. Topics we’ll cover include tablature, fingerpicking, double stops, transposition, arranging, and a little bit of chord melody. Prior experience reading tablature and playing barre chords strongly recommended. Must be able to strum confidently and play a variety of chords.

Class Schedule

Mondays: March 23, March 30, April 6, April 13, April 20** (**if folks are on vacation this day, we will find another day to make up the class that suits the majority of the students)

Time: 6:30–7:45pm ET

Location: Passim School of Music, 26 Church Street, Cambridge, MA(Classrooms are located on the second floor; unfortunately, there is no elevator.)

Ages: 18+
