THIS IS AN IN-PERSON CLASS

Kenny Baker was a legendary bluegrass fiddler best known for his work with Bill Monroe. In this class, we’ll transcribe some of Kenny’s solos and explore how his phrasing and improvisational style can be adapted for flatpicked guitar and incorporated into your own solos.

Location: Passim School of Music, 26 Church Street, Cambridge, MA(Classrooms are located on the second floor; unfortunately, there is no elevator.)

Ages: 18+

Jack Holland

Jack Holland is a bluegrass guitarist from Plymouth, MA. His interest in acoustic music began as a kid after encouragement from his great uncle Jerry who fronted stringband “Jerry & Sky” from the 1930’s-50’s.
Since graduating from the roots program at The Berklee College of Music, Jack has been touring nationally and internationally. He has performed alongside artists such as Laura Orshaw, Joe K. Walsh, Sam Grisman, and most recently as a member of Max Wareham & The National Bluegrass Team.
