**THIS IS AN IN-PERSON CLASS**

In this class, we will explore the wonderful world of playing fiddle tunes on the cello! We’ll learn tunes from the worlds of Celtic, Bluegrass, Old time, and Scandinavian folk music and explore different methods for improvising, ornamenting melodies, and accompanying with shuffle, plucked, and chop grooves. This class is perfect for anyone with a good grasp on the basics of cello playing, or for anyone with a cello background who wants to start playing folk music. We’ll also explore strategies for arranging folk tunes for a multi- cello ensemble and creating spicy and exciting twists on fiddle classics.

Location: Passim School of Music, 26 Church Street, Cambridge, MA(Classrooms are located on the second floor; unfortunately, there is no elevator.)

Ages: 18+
