Tina Ross writes the kind of songs that feel like conversations you didn’t know you needed—honest, poetic, and deeply human. Tina Ross is a NY-based singer-songwriter whose music blends contemporary folk with touches of jazz, rooted in lyrical storytelling and emotional depth. She writes and performs original songs that explore connection, resilience, love, and the human experience through poetic lyrics, intricate guitar work, and heartfelt delivery.
After a career as a Chiropractor, while also a vocalist in a Jazz Trio, Tina is on her second act and emerging as a Singer Songwriter. She was a 2024 Falcon Ridge Grassy Hill Emerging Artist and a 2025 Falcon Ridge Folk Festival “Most Wanted to return” Main Stage Artist, the 2023 Focus Music Heyman Rising Artist Award Winner and she is featured on Christine Lavin’s most recent “The Seasons Project” compilation. Tina’s debut album, “While I’m Here” was listed as a Grammy first-round consideration. She is now recording her second album with Producer Lorne Entress (Laurie McKenna, Susan Cattaneo, Mark Erelli, Hayley Reardon).
Tina also hosts the Zoomcast Inside the Song, a monthly hybrid concert and interview series featuring seasoned songwriters and the craft behind their work. She is deeply committed to songcraft and to creating spaces where meaningful music and stories thrive. This Zoomcast is the model for her live shows “SongCraft and Chat – A Songwriters Round”.
“Tina Ross is a classy cut of singer-songwriter perfection” ~ Jonathan Aird – Americana UK
Sam Robbins
- Folk Pop
- Singer/Songwriter
Sam Robbins is often described as an “old soul singer songwriter” whose music evokes classic 70’s singer songwriters like James Taylor and Neil Young but Sam adds a modern, upbeat edge to the storyteller troubadour persona.
After a brief stint on NBC’s The Voice in 2018, Robbins graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2019 then quickly made his move down to Nashville. After a tumultuous five years in Music City, So Much I Still Don’t See, his third album, was the first recording made after moving back to the Boston area in early 2024. Produced by singer songwriter Seth Glier, the album is built sparingly around solo acoustic guitar and vocals, tracked live, just as they are performed live on stage. Sam performs over 200 shows per year in listening rooms and festivals across the country. He was a 2021 Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk contest winner, a 2022 Falcon Ridge Folk Festival “Most Wanted to Return” artist, and later a solo mainstage performer at each festival in 2023 and 2024.
An avid performer, he has gained recognition from extensive national touring, from sharing the stage with artists like Jason Mraz and David Wilcox, and as a main stage performer at national festivals like the Kerrville, Falcon Ridge and Philadelphia Folk Festivals. Leading songwriting workshops and exciting performances across the country, Sam Robbins has gained a reputation as one of the brightest rising stars in the national folk music community.
Robbins is increasingly being recognized as a strong voice in US fingerstyle guitar playing, not just as an accompanist to his vocal.
“One of the most promising new songwriters of his generation” — Mike Davies, Fateau Magazine, UK
Michele Gedney
Michele Gedney spent 23 years as one half of the award-winning duo Open Book with her late husband, Rick Gedney, known for their honest and contemplative lyrics, melody invention, and weaving vocal and guitar harmonies. The duo released five albums which received critical acclaim and national radio play.
Sadly, Rick passed away in early 2023 and Michele made the decision to complete and release the album that they had finished recording, helping her in navigating her loss and to begin creating a new life as a solo artist. Open Book’s fifth and final album, Leaning In, made the Folk Alliance International radio chart for January and April of 2024.
Michele is a co-founder and teacher at Dar Williams “Writing a Song That Matters” retreat, entering its 14th year. Michele’s songs have received numerous awards and her song “Go” has been released by Cry Cry Cry (Dar Williams, Lucy Kaplansky, Richard Shindell) on their 2020 album, Live at the Freight.
Michele is writing and performing new material as well as selections from her catalog with Open Book. She has been writing and arranging vocals and guitars for other musician’s recording projects, and has been enjoying some successful co-writing opportunities. She is currently in the studio working on a solo album.
“…the low-key power of haunting melody, the satisfaction of adroit wordplay entwined with skillfully understated musicianship. Michele’s distillation powers are impressive indeed.” Robert Burke Warren, Chronogram Magazine
