Eastern Front Songwriting Grant winner, Kat Wallace, is a Boston-based fiddle player, singer, and songwriter who blends lyrical depth with powerful instrumental command. Wallace is best known for her bespoke fiddle playing in Rachel Sumner and Traveling Light, winners of the 2025 Telluride Bluegrass Band Contest.
She has recently stepped into the spotlight with her debut solo album “Grand Design”, released in January 2025. The album showcases her songwriting on tenor guitar, drawing on Americana influences like Gillian Welch and John Prine, alongside centuries-old Celtic and English balladry.
Wallace regularly performs at Passim (when she’s not on the road) as a part of Zachariah Hickman’s “Power Outage Party” and her latest project, Forsyth, a vocal harmony focused supergroup of Boston folk musicians.
Steven Manwaring
Steven Manwaring is a multi-instrumentalist based in Boston, MA. A lifelong musician, Steven performs regularly on guitar, pedal steel and mandolin, supporting many of the area’s finest songwriters.
Equally at home playing classic country, Americana, indie rock, and bluegrass, Steven brings together a wide variety of influences into a singular voice that sits somewhere between Bill Frisell and Blake Mills, and draws heavily on a love of artists such as Neil Young, George Jones, and Bill Evans.
Steven has performed with artists including Kat Wallace, Nora Meier, Elissa Mielke, Hannah Connolly, Erin Hogan, Kristin Cifelli, David McKindley-Ward, Brendan Hearn, and Riverado, among others. He has released music with Iris & Clay (his duo with Sam Wallace), Conor Hearn, Aidan Scrimgeour, Ghostlander, and Pumpkin Bread.
