Kipling Drozek

Kipling Drozek

  • Singer/Songwriter

Kipling Drozek is twelve years old. His favorite things are video games, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Pokémon, LEGO Mario, and food. His least favorite things? Long walks, school, and consequences. Kip began writing music during COVID, releasing his first album, Oreshadow, at the age of ten—and earning the record for the youngest musician ever to headline Club Passim.

Now Kip is back with his sophomore outing, Ick. Ick is a concept album all about things that Kip does not like: love songs, coffee, long car drives, writer’s block, cleaning his room, and more. Featuring a full band and recorded/produced by the Grammy-nominated Zachariah Hickman, the album is filled with catchy, intricate, open-hearted anthems about childhood, often veering into accidentally profound reflections on the human experience.

Join us for Kip’s album release show for Ick, released on 180g vinyl. Kip is backed by The Chaperones, a full band of (adult) musicians, including Zachariah Hickman (bass), Rich Hinman (guitar), Kevin O’Connell (drums), and Kip’s mom Rose Polenzani (keys and vocals). Kip’s sister Margaret Drozek opens. Kip rocks, reminding us that growing up is always more awesome with a soundtrack.
