Joanna Schubert, the Brooklyn-based singer/keyboardist/composer/arranger behind Oropendola, creates kaleidoscopic chamber pop filled to the brim with energy and emotion. Her debut full-length album, Waiting for the Sky to Speak (recorded with Zubin Hensler) will be released on March 17th, 2023 with Spirit House Records and Wilbur & Moore Records. It is an imaginative and colorful chimera of a collection peppered with the raw theatricality of Kate Bush and FKA Twigs; the off-kilter humor of Miranda July; the surrealism of Alice in Wonderland; and the melodic core of Joanna’s childhood soundtrack (90s pop, jazz standards, and the Beatles).
The Oropendola live crü is a rotating cast of of 1-7 musicians, including synths, clarinet, flute, and 3 part harmonies. Joanna has also been a touring member of Half Waif and Barrie, sung with Grammy nominated Gnawa musician Samir Langus, and currently plays in Brooklyn bands Nicomo and beccs. When she isn’t making music, Joanna is helping other humans make music. She teaches lessons in piano and songwriting, has led contemporary vocal groups, and writes and music directs eccentric musicals with kids. She lives in a 5th floor walk-up with her almost-8 year old cat Moose, and frolics in Greenwood Cemetery every chance she gets.
Leah Marlene is a songwriter, artist, and producer with a deeply rooted desire to create art unlike anything you have heard before. With a unique, engaging voice and a songwriting style that combines elements of folk, rock, pop, soul, funk, jazz and more, she cannot be put into a box.
Leah grew up in a house full of music and guitars as her father, Derry Grehan, is a songwriter and lead guitarist with the Canadian band, Honeymoon Suite. He passed along his knowledge and passion for writing and performing. Leah began singing and writing her own songs at a very young age and never looked back! She has been performing professionally since the age of ten and releasing music since she was thirteen.
Leah has been making writing trips to Nashville since she was 13, and after graduating high school, she made the move there where she spent two years studying songwriting at Belmont University. She then returned back to the midwest to produce her latest album, “Many Colors.”
Now twenty-one years old, Leah most recently came off an incredible run on season 20 of American Idol, where she released her latest original single, “Flowers” and placed second runner up of the season!
Leah is a lover of people and her greatest hope is that her music may meet you exactly where you are at and help you feel whatever it is you need to feel in a given moment.
Known for their gritty, melodic indie pop songwriting, John-Allison Weiss emerged at the end of the 2000s as an early crowd-funding hero with a strong D.I.Y. ethos that has defined them throughout their career. After establishing themselves among the punk underground, they became a staple of the Warped Tour and released highly rated albums like 2013’s Say What You Mean and 2015’s New Love. Touring with everyone from Lou Reed to Letters to Cleo, Weiss has also collaborated as a songwriter with artists including Tegan Quin and Kevin Devine. Following a live album and 2021’s Death Valley Demos EP, they signed with Get Better Records and issued the singles “Different Now” and “Feels Like Hell” from their upcoming album ‘The Long Way’ out February 17th.

Sean Trischka Power Trio is a brand new project led by New Jersey-born drummer/singer/songwriter Sean Trischka, featuring Charlie Muench (The Stray Birds) and Joseph Terrell (Mipso). Performing a mix of Sean’s original songs, a sprinkling of choice covers, and a healthy dose of improvisation, the Power Trio’s singular goal is to give their audiences a good time.
Playing a wide range of styles, from folk to pop to heavy metal, Sean tours nationally and internationally with many artists, including Carsie Blanton, Oh Pep!, The Stash Band, and Mipso. He has performed with a wide array of musicians including Oteil Burbridge (Dead & Company), Billy Strings, Mike Gordon (Phish), Sarah Jarosz, members of Lake Street Dive.
Sean has released two albums: The Shuffle (2015) and Of Course! (2018), both to critical acclaim. His upcoming EP, entitled Friendship, will be released in June 2022 with an accompanying video album.
Growing up in the Texas Hill Country of New Braunfels, Leigh Nash officially started her music career singing country music and learning old country songs on the guitar when she was just 12 years old.
With a desire to be on the stage, she started calling clubs on her own to book herself to perform. Before long, the young teen was singing Loretta Lynn and Tanya Tucker songs, such as “You Ain’t Woman Enough to Take My Man” and “Texas When I Die,” on open mic Sunday nights while being backed by a middle-aged band of town locals. It was in the early 90’s when she met guitarist and songwriter Matt Slocum and together they formed the band Sixpence None The Richer, a famed pop group that went on to win numerous awards and accolades, including two GRAMMY® Award nominations.
In their career, Sixpence None The Richer recorded four full-length albums. Their debut, which released when Nash was just 16, was 1994’s critically acclaimed LP The Fatherless & The Widow. In the years that followed, the band released numerous timeless songs and huge radio hits, from the GRAMMY-nominated “Kiss Me” to “There She Goes,” among many others.
Leigh Nash also recorded the song “Need to Be Next to You,” written by famed songwriter Diane Warren, for the 2000 movie Bounce, which became Nash’s first solo single. She also made guest appearances on albums from bands such as Los Straightjackets and Delerium. Nash eventually pursued a solo career and debuted her first album, Blue On Blue, in 2006 (One Son/ Nettwerk). She also became a member of Fauxliage and Movement Nashville.
Today, Nash is based in Nashville working as a touring solo artist and songwriter, and she continues to tour with Sixpence None The Richer. “Get Happy” is Nash’s latest release (2.14.20) and features the 20th Anniversary Edition of “Kiss Me” and a tapestry are new songs “God Gave Me Horses” (Leigh Nash/Connie Harrington), “My Love My Drug” (Leigh Nash/ Aaron Espe), “Something Worth Leaving Behind” (Leigh Nash/ Jaida Dryer/ Park Chisolm), and “Don’t Let Me Die In Dallas” (Leigh Nash/Tom Douglas).

Teghan Devon is a Boston based award-winning singer-songwriter. Her music is a cross-pollination of folk, indie rock, and pop. She has been praised for her “honest and clear vocals . . . an artist who doesn’t need to hide behind flare to make stellar music” (“Five Modern Singer-Songwriters To Help You Face The Day,” EarToTheGroundMusic). In December 2018, Teghan won multiple awards in the Mid-Atlantic Song Contest, including Young Artist winner and a Silver Award. Teghan was selected as a New Folk Finalist at the Kerrville Folk Festival in 2018 and 2017. In July of 2018 Teghan released her first full-length album “Fingers Crossed”. She will release her new EP “Little Lion”, on April 10th, 2020.
