Make your old-time music more fun—why not bring some new musical elements into your tunes? In this workshop, we’ll explore how to create new old-time music by blending it with a range of different styles and approaches. Participants will learn folk songs from Korea’s Gyeonggi region and get to know the unique characteristics of Gyeonggi minyo. The goal is to compose and perform original pieces that reflect these traditions in a fresh, genre-blending way.

Location: Passim School of Music, 26 Church Street, Cambridge, MA(Classrooms are located on the second floor; unfortunately, there is no elevator.)

Limited to students 18 yrs of age or older; Online sale ends 2 hours before the workshop begins. If there is space, tickets can be purchased at the door before the workshop begins. 5 students are required for this workshop to meet. If a workshop is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will be notified and receive a full refund.
