**THIS IS AN IN-PERSON CLASS**

Intermediate Mandolin is a group class designed to help advancing mandolin players gain a deeper understanding of the tunes, techniques, and traditions surrounding our instrument.

Throughtout this 5-week course we will deepen our understanding of melody, rhythm and harmony, while expanding our repertoire and growing our confidence when playing with others.
We will dive further into fundamental concepts including picking techniques, strumming patterns, left hand exercises, ear training and improvising around a melody, while learning creative ways to practice and apply the concepts to our playing. Class will be taught by ear with supplementary handout and videos via Google Drive.

Pre-requisites: Students should have a handful of scales, chords, and melodies (in any style) under their fingers.

This class runs from 8:00-9:15pm and will be held on Wednesdays, Nov 4, Nov 11, Nov 18, Dec 2, Dec 9

Please note:The class will be held at The Passim School of Music which is located at 26 Church St. Cambridge, MA. Classrooms are located on the second floor and, unfortunately, we do not have an elevator.

Limited to students 18 yrs of age or older;  Pre-sales are highly encouraged! Online sale ends 2 housr before the class begins. Before the class begins. 3 students are required for this class to meet. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will be notified and receive a full refund.

Dan Bui

Dan Bui is a versatile and exciting mandolin player based in Boston, Massachusetts. Deeply passionate about music, he finds himself inspired by traditional and contemporary music from around the world, with a natural curiosity for how musicians influence and collaborate across style and genre.
Growing up in Houston Texas, Dan was introduced to the mandolin when he first saw Sam Bush playing on TV. From 2010-2013, Dan attended Berklee College of Music, studying mandolin with John McGann, Darol Anger, Joe k. Walsh, and Jason Anick. He was a founding member of Twisted Pine, recording on 4 full-length albums, and touring around the world.
Throughout his time as a performer, Dan has also maintained a busy schedule as a dedicated teacher, teaching regularly at workshops and music camps across the country. In his teaching, Dan strives to help his students identify and connect with their innate, intuitive musicianship, and find inspiration in the vast world of music.
