Fish City is an absurdist play partially inspired by (but not limited to) Lauren Beukes, George Saunders, Marvel Comics, the Wu-Tang Clan and the American Experiment.
Welcome to Fish City, where rapid development and a series of arsons terrorizes its citizens. Under the specter of the anarchist group known as the Iron Grip, Mayor Wanamaker runs for his eighth re-election on law and order and a casino development project. A golden boy athlete signs for $200-million dollars while an iconic landmark goes up in flames. Somehow, it’s all connected. Under the constant chatter and mounting pressure of the ever-present cable news, three journalists search for the truth.
