Monday, October 28th @ 8pm: Bone Gristle Blues: Transmissions from Fish City II
Welcome back to Fish City. The fires have subsided. The Iron Grip is no more, and their leader, Lee Minors, has been released from jail. With a booming economy, low crime, and a food truck on every corner, these are prosperous times.
An explosion rocks the city. Lee and investigative journalist Vanessa Roberts fall deeper and deeper down the conspiratorial rabbit hole, circling the drain with luxury condos, automation, and drug trafficking. Who is the Pita King? Is he the boss of a vast criminal organization backed by celebrities and politicians? Or is he just a dude who makes a damn fine gyro?
Bone Gristle Blues is the sequel to Transmissions From Fish City, a multi-media radio-style play performed live by an ensemble of local artists & musicians from the Boston area. Written by Jason Metz, Bone Gristle Blues is an absurdist evening for those who could use a good laugh during dark times.
Cast: Peter Mulvey, Susan Scotti, Jason Metz, Ruth Anzalone, Chris Anzalone, Chuck Bartlett, & Mike Spencer
Music: Barry Rothman & James Rohr
Tuesday, October 29th @ 8pm: Songs of Anais Mitchell
An evening of songs by the 2019 Tony Award winning Vermont songwriter Anais Mitchell. Songs from Mitchell’s rich catalogue will be curated by Rose Polenzani, who has an uncanny knack for bringing together group shows. Both Polenzani and Mulvey sang parts from Boston Sings Hadestown at Club Passim back in 2010, just a few months before the very first Lamplighter Session. This night will feature Peter Mulvey, Rose Polenzani, Dietrich Strause, Ali McGuirk, Mark Erelli, Liv Greene, Molly Venter and Cindy Howes.
Wednesday, October 30th @ 8pm: Peter Mulvey’s There Is Another World
This is the last stop on the There Is Another World tour. Peter’s latest recording was produced by Todd Sickafoose (Ani Difranco, Hadestown) and released into this world by Righteous Babe Records in February 2019. To help recreate the unique sounds and textures of this record, Peter will be joined by Dinty Child (Session Americana), Jenna Moynihan (Milk Carton Kids, Laura Corteses & The Dance Cards), Lyle Brewer (Ryan Montbleau, Dietrich Strause), Paul Kochanski (Lori McKenna, Ronnie Earl) and Barry Rothman (TG4S, Radi0Swan).
