Woody Giessmann

Woody Giessmann

Following his career as the drummer for the Warner Brothers recording artists The Del Fuegos, Woody became an addiction specialist and interventionist in 1993. Woody has been in long-term recovery since April 12, 1990, and dedicated his life to helping others navigate substance use and co-occurring disorders. His commitment to this field is deeply personal, rooted in the loss of his older brother, Brian Gilmore Giessmann who died at age 19 from substance abuse and mental health issues, which led Woody to confront his own journey toward healing.

Woody has a master’s level Licensed Counselor (LADC-1), a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC), and is a Board-Certified Interventionist Professional (CIP). As a long-term member of the Association of Intervention Specialists (AIS), he specializes in an invitational and gentle approach to working with individuals and families. Woody’s goal is to help clients regain self-confidence and build healthy, authentic lives by connecting them with the most effective treatment providers for substance use and mental health disorders.
