Tonight we're pleased to bring you Revels FRINGE at Club Passim: The Gaslight Tinkers @ 7pm. "All Revels programs celebrate traditional music – but music has a habit of jumping fences. We created Revels FRINGE to introduce you to artists who are comfortable in the idea of music without borders: jazz-inflected traditional tunes, folk and classical instruments from around world, exotic and invented instruments, familiar songs in unfamiliar settings…This year, we will continue to explore the musical fringe through a collaboration with Club Passim."

This year's Folk Collective cohort was nominated by members of the Passim Culture & Inclusion Committee and Passim staff and board members. We are excited to have such a diverse cross-section of thought leaders, musicians and teaching artists that represent our community. We have now had two of our quarterly gatherings where Folk Collective members have met at the club to share food, laughs, individual presentations, and open discussions about concepts like what Folk music is today and what steps can be taken to make it more diverse, equitable and inclusive. We'll be excited to share more with you on those conversations later this year through various Folk Collective events.

It was a joy to have @palaverstrings here last month as part of their Chamber Series and we're very excited to have them here again tonight @ 8pm. Palaver Strings is a musician-led string ensemble and nonprofit organization based in Portland, ME. Their mission is to strengthen and inspire community through music. In their musician-led model, Palaver’s musicians share artistic and administrative leadership, guided by a passion for engaging new audiences, addressing social justice issues, and amplifying underrepresented voices.

Through an active exchange of ideas, creative collaboration, and partnership, we will foster and develop sustainable channels to invite and welcome diverse audiences and new artists to the Passim stage.
