Don't miss a one-of-a-kind workshop on Saturday, July 9 at 1 PM. “Pitch Like A Pro: Grab the Attention of Music Journalists” is a workshop from Victoria Wasylak, a Boston-based music writer and podcaster. Victoria describes it: “For folks who have never pitched before, it’s about where to start, how to start … I can understand that it’s kind of a daunting process. It’s also for people who’ve played for years potentially, and maybe aren’t getting as many nibbles as they would like.”⁣

We are so excited to have @beccastevensbsb and @secrettriomusic tonight @ 8pm! 2021 GRAMMY-nominated Becca Stevens was in awe witnessing The Secret Trio’s performance at the GroundUP Music Festival a few years ago. The Secret Trio is made up of an oudist, kanunist and clarinetist who came together to create a new type of chamber music, combining the elements of sound, texture and rhythm with new and interesting approaches to their instruments. They perform original pieces and traditional melodies that fuse the microtonal modes and improvisation of the Middle East, dance beats of the Balkans, and elements of jazz, rock, classical and world music. The Secret Trio has played at the most prestigious venues throughout Turkey, including Cemal Reşit Rey Hall.

Summer BCMFest is tailored after the annual BCMFest (Boston Celtic Music Fest), a weekend gathering held each January to celebrate Greater Boston ’s richness of music, song and dance from the Irish, Scottish, Cape Breton and other Celtic traditions. Like its winter counterpart, Summer BCMFest showcases the diversity of sounds and styles found in Boston’s Celtic music community.

@dietrichstrause and @richhinman are on stage tonight @ 8pm to sing some of their favorite songs with some special guests. Dietrich Strause’s songs are a mix of timeless melody, literate lyricism, and a “virtuosic command of imagery” (The Artery, WBUR). His blend of midcentury modern pop and atomic-age folk has drawn comparisons to M. Ward and a young Paul Simon and has garnered him invitations to support folk luminaries such as Sarah Jarosz and Anais Mitchell, to indie pop acts like Darlingside and Lake Street Dive.

@goldenoakmusic will be performing tonight @ 8pm! GoldenOak’s music is rooted in the natural landscape - their songs move like a stream, meandering and weaving in an original yet grounding direction. Fronted by siblings Zak and @lena.e.kendall, GoldenOak’s music calmly excites its listeners while nestled in rich folk-influenced sibling harmony. This is perfectly represented in the group’s latest album “Room to Grow” - A 10-song reflection of the emotional and physical impacts of the climate crisis. The band is rounded out by up-right bassist @knowlesmg0 and drummer @o_sweet_nothing.
