  • Bluegrass

Alayna Whitkanack is a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based out of Boston, MA who writes groovy acoustic songs with ties to both early folk and contemporary popular music. She loves using elements of old time, Celtic, and bluegrass music to guide her writing process, and enjoys piecing together each lyric and phrase like a puzzle to make her songs tell stories in vivid and emotive detail.

Alayna graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2024 with a degree in songwriting and a dual minor in American Roots Music and the Business of Live Music. Currently, she plays fiddle with the Water Street Wranglers and Maggie Monroe & Twang Station and leads the Alayna Maysie Band. Additionally, she teaches “Music and Movement” classes to young children daily and works in live music at Club Passim in Cambridge, MA. She is always excited to share music with others and can’t wait to meet more creative minds to exchange ideas with.
