Vocal Expression Through Improvised Singing
- A capella
- Global
- In-Person Workshops
**THIS IS AN IN-PERSON WORKSHOP**
At a glance: This workshop is to mix notions of beatbox and vocal percussion with improvised singing, in general, as a form of expressing what is present in the moment, what is alive inside of us. Getting around different perspectives of cadence and rhythm, connection with the body, movement and co-creation, in a fun and dynamic environment.
This workshop is centered in the idea of personal and creative expression through improvisation. We will explore (circle) singing, beatboxing and movement at the service of whatever is present around and inside of us, and we will comfortably get out of our comfort zones, expanding our perceptions of co-creation.
We will navigate improv games, different dynamics and some exercises to blend our rhythms and melodies. We will approach notions of vocal drum kits, circle singing, orchestrations, multi-tasking and sharing/vulnerability.
This workshop will be held on October 16th at the Passim School of Music from 6:30pm-8:30pm
Please note: The workshop will be held at The Passim School of Music which is located at 26 Church St. Cambridge, MA. Classrooms are located on the third floor and, unfortunately, we do not have an elevator.
Limited to 15 students (16 yrs of age or older); Pre-sales are highly encouraged! Online sale ends 5 hours before the workshop begins. Tickets can be purchased at the door before the workshop begins. 8 students are required for this workshop to meet. If a workshop is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will be notified and receive a full refund.
