Lyrics? Check. Melody? Check! Now what? 
The life cycle of  your song has just begun! In Song Development, you’ll learn the next steps and set of skills you’ll need to get your song ready for recording and for other’s to play it. We’ll workshop arrangements, and learn about chart making and basic demoing. By the end of this class you’ll have a strong sense of your song and the confidence to let the world know about it!
Requirement: you need to have only ONE song prewritten (lyrics, chords, & melody) that we can work on throughout the class.

This class will be held from 8:00-9:15pm on Mondays: Jan. 6, 13, 27, Feb. 3, 10, 24.

Please note: The Passim School of Music is located at 26 Church St. Cambridge, MA. Classrooms are located on the third floor and, unfortunately, we do not have an elevator. 

Limited to 6 students (16 yrs of age or older); 3 students are required for class to meet. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund.

Rachel Sumner

Rachel Sumner is an award winning singer-songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist based in Boston, Massachusetts. Red Line Roots describes her as, “a modern day queen of bluegrass fusion and emotive roots writing.”

Sharing front-woman duties, Rachel writes and performs with roots-pop band Twisted Pine, who just released their eponymous album in 2017 on Signature Sounds Recordings.

Rachel is a frequent collaborator with local musicians. With her musical partner Sam Moss and Michael Siegel, she formed Sumner & Moss, a group rooted in traditional American musics weaving close harmonies into classic country songs alongside their own roots-inspired originals. ​
