- School of Music workshop
Scarlet Keys is back by popular demand after her January workshop, The Craft of Songwriting: Music, Meaning and Emotion.
In this workshop, you will have a chance to perform or play a song for a critique. You will Learn tools and techniques for making your songs as effective as possible in any genre.
This workshop runs from 11:00am-1:00pm.
Please note: The Passim School of Music is located at 26 Church St. Cambridge, MA. Classrooms are located on the third floor and, unfortunately, we do not have an elevator.
Scarlet Keys has been a full-time professor of songwriting at Berklee College of Music since 2003, teaching songwriting, lyric writing, performance, and upper-division songwriting courses. Some of her students include Charlie Puth, Betty Who, Charlie Worsham, Liz Longley, and Jesse Ruben, to name a few.
Scarlet is a former staff songwriter for Warner/Chappell Music, and has released two albums as a solo artist and toured and performed with her original band.
Scarlet has had her songs recorded by other artists spanning the genres of Americana, jazz, country, pop, and folk, both in the United Stated and in Sweden. She has had a gold record, a number 1 song in Britain, and songs placed in film, television, and national commercials. Most recently, she had a song on the Consenses CD along with James Taylor, Carly Simon, and Jimmy Buffett and was a part of the Consenses project created by Sally Taylor.
Scarlet has worked and written with Chris Stapleton, Charlie Puth, Melissa Ferrick, Blue Miller of India.Arie, Denny Hemingson of Tim McGraw, hit writer Negin Djafari, Monty Powell, and others, and she has shared the stage with Carly Simon, Sally Taylor, Monty Powell, and Kami Lyle.
