Piano II is a small group class designed for adult students who have completed Intro To Piano, and is open to any beginner players who have a basic understanding of reading bass and treble clef notes and of piano chords. We will review the piano fundamentals in the first class.
The course will build on the curriculum of Intro to Piano and we will spend half the course playing music through notation and the other half through chords. You will learn finger technique exercises, music theory, chord progressions, how to play in different keys, how to read lead sheets and so much more! We will learn pieces such as Prelude by Bach, Amazing Grace, Fur Elise by Beethoven, Imagine by John Lennon, Canon by Pachelbel, and Hotel California by The Eagles and more.
There will be an opportunity for one-on-one time with the instructor, to give individualized feedback like you would in a private lesson. Prerequisites: Piano or Keyboard (60 or more keys preferred), Sustain pedal (recommended if using a keyboard), ability to read music (bass and treble clef), basic understanding of piano chords is helpful

Bridget Driscoll is a jack-of-all-trades music instructor based in Portland, OR and born and raised in Cape Cod and Connecticut. She is an alumna of Berklee College of Music, Emerson College and UCLA, where she honed her skills as a musical theatre accompanist and music director. Bridget lived in Los Angeles for three years after college and worked in music supervision and licensing for movie trailers. You may recognize her as a former Club Passim box office associate, intern, campfire. performer and chalkboard artist.
Bridget began playing piano at the age of two and went on to study classical, jazz, rock and musical theatre styles in addition to learning voice, guitar, viola, violin and cello. She believes learning piano first laid the foundation and passion she needed to pursue a diverse career in music. Since becoming a full time music instructor in 2018, Bridget has taught over 5,000 lessons to students of all ages and levels, from toddlers to octogenarians.
