**THIS IS AN IN-PERSON CLASS**

In this class, we will explore the wonderful world of playing fiddle tunes on the cello! We’ll cover tune playing and comping, and we’ll delve into the details of melody and groove. This class is perfect for anyone with a good grasp of the basics of cello playing, or for anyone with a cello background who wants to start playing folk music. 

Need an instrument to rent? We suggest visiting Johnson Strings.

This class runs from 8:00-9:15pm and will be held on Wednesdays, Sept 20, 27, Oct 4, 11 18

Please note:The class will be held at The Passim School of Music which is located at 26 Church St. Cambridge, MA. Classrooms are located on the third floor and, unfortunately, we do not have an elevator. 

Limited to students 16 yrs of age or older; Pre-sales are highly encouraged! Online sale end 2 hours before the class begins. Ben Roberts

Ben Roberts is a cellist and composer based in Boston and originally from Denver, Colorado. Having studied classical performance at the Cleveland Institute of Music and contemporary improvisation at the New England Conservatory, Ben is now a freelance musician performing and teaching primarily in classical and Irish styles.

After graduating undergrad in 2020, Ben programmed, organized, and performed over 100 outdoor house concerts in Denver and Boston. He has performed as part of the Askia and Corylus string quartets, and has worked with artists such as John Patitucci, Esperanza Spalding, and members of the Emerson String Quartet.
