  • Country
  • School of Music jam
  • School of Music workshop

Join Cliff Notez and Maxfield Anderson for a conversation and jam session where we will discuss the influences of early black country artists and their historical exclusion from “country” music. Through listening to and playing the songs of artists such as Lesley Riddle, Elizabeth Cotten, and Sister Rosetta Tharpe we’ll explore how their sounds shaped the music we hear today.

The second part of this workshop includes an acoustic jam session. Participation is encouraged, not required, so bring your instrument and voices!

This workshop runs from 11am-1pm and will be held Saturday, February 18th at the Club Passim venue, located at 47 Palmer St. Cambridge, MA.

We are offering a number of scholarships to attend this workshop. If you are interested, please email rachel@passim.org to inquire!

Please note: Pre-sales are highly encouraged! Online ales end 1 hour before the workshop begins, tickets can be purchased at the door until the workshop begins. 3 students are required for this workshop to meet.
