This workshop will focus on fundamental skills necessary for playing bluegrass fiddle. Topics covered will include: double stops, chopping and other backup techniques, hearing chord changes and getting to know different song forms, tips for improving speed, intonation and tone, how to design a simple and effective fiddle solo and how to get the most out of your practice time. There will be something for every level of player and a knowledge of bluegrass is not required to join the class! Please bring instrument, shoulder rest and recording device.
This workshop runs from 2:00-4:00pm.
Please note: The Passim School of Music is located at 26 Church St. Cambridge, MA. Classrooms are located on the third floor and, unfortunately, we do not have an elevator.
