Kentucky Tunes For Clawhammer Banjo
Broaden your clawhammer horizons by learning these great tunes from early source recordings by Santford Kelly, John Morgan Salyer, Luther Strong and Ed Haley. Imagine sitting knee to knee playing duets with these great fiddlers a hundred years ago in the Southern Appalachian mountains. We’ll work on right and left hand techniques to bring out the melody on tunes like Half Past Four, Lonesome John, Whitesburg Of Old Kentucky, Glory In The Meeting House and Stump-Tailed Dolly.
This workshop is part of the Down Home Up Here Festival and runs from 12-2pm.
Workshops fees are seperate from your festival ticket.
Please note: The Passim School of Music is located at 26 Church St. Cambridge, MA. Classrooms are located on the third floor and, unfortunately, we do not have an elevator.
