In Beginning Jazz Standards we’ll be playing and analyzing a handful of well-known and foundational jazz standards. Through these tunes we’ll explore the concepts of improvisation, jam etiquette, jazz chords and voicings, aural transcription, modes, and chord substitution.

Prerequisites: This class is best for students who have a basic understanding of music theory and can play an accompanimental instrument. 

This class runs from 8:00-9:15pm and will be held on Wednesdays Sept 9, 16, 23, 30, Oct. 7, 14.

Please noteLimited to 10 students (16 yrs of age or older); Pre-sales are highly encouraged! Sales end 15 minutes before the class begins. 3 students are required for this class to meet. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will be notified and receive a full refund.
