Bruce Molsky & Ale Möller

Bruce Molsky here. I’m thrilled to let you know that Ale Möller and I will be hitting the road together for a tour in the US this May 2025. Ale and I have played together in various settings over the years. We toured in Sweden in ’24, and the result was music we think is unique and exciting (also a recording to be released soon!) This upcoming tour is a chance to take it even further. Ale is a true musical explorer, always pushing the boundaries and mixing sounds from around the globe with brilliance, passion and a big heart. Whether it’s on his own amazing version of the mandola, or any number of wind instruments or harmonica, Ale’s music is a journey in itself. As for me, I’ve spent my life immersed in the rich traditions of American old-time music, blues and music from other cultures as well. From growing up in the Bronx to the back of the Appalachian Mountains, my journey has been about connecting the dots of our great and diverse musical heritage. Along the way, I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with some incredible artists and teach the next generation of musicians at Berklee College of Music as The Visiting Scholar in our American Roots Music Program. This tour is more than just a series of concerts; it’s a celebration of creativity, tradition, and the joy of making music. Ale and I are excited to bring you new arrangements and performances that reflect our shared passion for music. So mark your calendars and join us for an unforgettable musical experience. We can’t wait to share our music with you. See you on the road! -Bruce

Grammy-nominated, described as “an absolute master” (No Depression), Molsky transports audiences to another time and place, with his authentic and personal interpretations of rarities from the Southern Appalachian songbook and other musical traditions from around the globe. Best known for his work on the fiddle, Bruce’s banjo, guitar and his distinctive, powerful vocals also resonate with listeners. His combination of technical virtuosity and relaxed conversational wit makes a concert hall feel like an intimate front porch gathering.
Bruce’s take on tradition has landed him in collaborations with some of the world’s most highly respected players from roots to rock. He is a special guest on legend rocker Mark Knopfler’s recent CD, “Tracker.” His 1865 Songs of Hope & Home with Anonymous 4, was on Billboard’s top 10 for weeks. Along with Andy Irvine & Donal Lunny, Bruce is a founding member of the supergroup Mozaik, with three recordings. You can see Bruce on the BBC TV “Transatlantic Sessions” with Aly Bain and Jerry Douglas, and on “David Holt’s State of Music” on PBS. He stays active touring and recording with longtime collaborators Darol Anger, Tony Trischka and Mountain Drifters’ Allison de Groot.
February 2022 will mark the long-anticipated release of Bruce’s solo guitar CD: “Everywhere You Go” which is the coming-together of new interpretations and arrangements of a wide swath of styles.
Bruce holds the title of “Visiting Scholar in the American Roots Music Program” at Berklee College of Music, where he is the go-to guy for the next generation of roots musicians.
Ale Möller

After more than 50 years of touring the world and more than 50 albums and 1200 registered compositions, acclaimed multi-musician Ale Möller is still a central figure on the Nordic folk- and world music scene in the search for new musical paths and expressions.
Trying to list all the prizes and awards Ale Möller has received over the years is as impossible as listing all the instruments he masters. Multiple Grammy winner, certified legend and professor. He has received both royal medals and the Swedish government’s Export Honor Award and is an internationally recognized artist with star status worldwide. In 2014, he was awarded the former Beatles producer George Martin’s prestigious Sir George Martin Music Award and the heavy Lifetime Achievement Award shares Ale Möller, as the first artist in the Nordics, with names such as Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger, Odetta, Joan Baez and Harry Belafonte.
What started with a trumpet and a youthful relationship with jazz continued in a passionate love affair with Greek folk music and then landed in a deep relationship with Nordic folk music. Ale Möller creates his own musical universe, known for his many projects and collaborations across genre and cultural boundaries. Regardless of the genre, Ale Möller works his way into the source code of the music he encounters and he obtains an almost unique legendary status for how he expanded the concept of folk and traditional music for decades.
