The 2013 BCMFest Finale Concert

"Forward and Back: The First 10 Years"
Hosted by Brian O'Donovan, host of WGBH-FM's "A Celtic Sojourn"

BCMFest finale concerts typically honor the Celtic traditions, and those who have kept them going in the Boston area, while enthusiastically looking ahead to what the future holds for the music. This evening will comprise three segments, each celebrating an aspect of Boston’s robust Celtic community.

  • A “blast” of Cape Breton music and dance, with Emerald Rae (fiddle), Matt Phelps (pipes) and Janine Randall (piano).
  • A performance by Highland Dance Boston, which blends traditional highland and step dances of the Scottish tradition with contemporary influences.
  • A tribute to Boston Irish music legend Larry Reynolds by faculty of the Boston Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann School of Music that Reynolds helped establish.  Performers will include George Keith & Sean Gannon, Patrick Hutchinson, Cara Frankowicz, John, Lisa & Josie Coyne, and Regina Delaney; also participating will be students of the Boston Comhaltas Music School plus other special guests.

BCMFest is forever grateful to all the talented and creative performers who have appeared at the festival since it began. Each year's list is an overview of the various individuals, bands or special acts that have graced the BCMFest stages. If we left anyone out, please let us know!
