Club Passim Booking FAQs
Due to the large volume of requests that we receive, we are not able to offer bookings to everyone who contacts us.
If you send us your materials, we will keep them on file and will contact you if we would like to schedule you for a date at the Club. Generally speaking, we book about five months out from the current date. Please note, we cannot respond to all booking inquiries.
Do take advantage of area open mics, clubs, and radio shows, and keep us apprised of your performances. Also, make sure you familiarize yourself with our calendar before submitting music. Club Passim does present a wide range of musical genres on our stage, but we feature predominantly acoustic performances. Club Passim also has several opportunities for developing artists, including open mics, opening slots, and the campfire. festival.
The Passim Open Mic is held weekly on Tuesdays, resuming in June 2014 (check the Concert Calendar to confirm) . Sign-up begins at 6PM. The first 30 performers who sign up get to play. Each act gets 2 songs (or 10 minutes). We have a Kurzweil SP88x keyboard on hand for performers to use.
We believe that it takes a combination of venue AND artist support to make every event successful!
One of our main goals for every performance is to generate an appropriate audience for the show. In order for us to meet that goal, it is very important that you as a performer help us find your appropriate audience.
Here are some suggestions for how to reach your audience.
1. Make sure that you post the correct information about your show(s). Make sure to write your showtime down correctly, as the start times of our shows do vary. Also, make sure that you include the correct contact information for Club Passim.
47 Palmer St.
Cambridge, MA 02138
2. Send out postcards, flyers, and emails to your friends, family, and mailing list. Send out your own press release to specific media contacts with whom you have a direct relationship. Be sure to make extensive use of all social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.). Link up with our pages, as well! Make sure to add bloggers to your contacts for press releases; in today’s world, the blogosphere is just as effective as print media at getting the word out.

You can get media lists and coordinate your PR approach with Matt Smith.
3. Schedule radio interviews on WERS, WUMB, WGBH, WBUR, WMFO, WMBR, and other area radio stations on the day of your performance or during the week prior to the performance.
Remember, there is no one way to reach the public. Club Passim will do its best to promote each and every show, but we need your help. The most successful shows are marketed via a combination of these approaches.
What is campfire. festival?
Our campfire. festivals are held over Memorial Day and Labor Day Weekends (Fri.-Mon.) The festivals incorporate upwards of 100 artists playing solo, in-the-round, and band sets. We also hold a miniature version of these festivals over Presidents Day Weekend (Sat-Sun).
campfire. festival is a great opportunity to introduce yourself or your band to the Boston area. It also is a great way to build your email list, sell CDs, and meet and collaborate with artists from around the country. Many of our regular headliners at Club Passim got their start at campfire. festival. Booking for the Memorial Day festival starts mid-March and booking for Labor Day event starts at the beginning of June. If you would like to play at campfire. festival, please follow Club Passim’s normal booking procedures, and include a note that you are interested in playing at the campfire. festival.
The campfire. festival is a non-paying gig, so performers should feel free to book other local area performances while they are in town.
